Du Pont Telecom joins forces with KMCS

In a move aimed at simplifying business’ utilisation of converged office communications solutions, telecommunications solutions company Du Pont Telecom has acquired a shareholding in one South Africa’s leading office automation specialist companies, Konica Minolta Corporate Solutions (KMCS).

KMCS provides a wide range of colour and mono Digital Copiers, multi-function devices (printer/copier/fax/scanner); fax machines and printers for businesses of all sizes.

Du Pont CEO Graeme Victor says the new partnership enables Du Pont to offer businesses a truly one-stop solution for all aspects of a business’s office automation, communication and integration requirements.
“The technologically converging world in which we live has made running a business both easier – and considerably more complicated,” he says.

It’s easier because you can do a lot more in your business with a lot less. Instead of having to print out a document and then take it to a fax machine to send it to a customer, you can just email it (or send it via fax) from your computer – or from your ‘photocopier’ or multi-function device (MFP) which can do a whole lot more than make copies. However, it’s also more complicated because now your telephone system, your data network and your MFP all need to work together.

“The problem is – who do you call when your photocopier won’t send emails; or your computer isn’t receiving your voice messages? “The partnership between Du Pont and KMCS will help to eliminate this dilemma,” he explains.
KMCS director Ian Craig agrees and adds that the synergies between Du Pont and KMCS go beyond the ongoing convergence of the technologies in which they each specialise.

“Both KMCS and Du Pont are totally committed to service delivery and to making it easier for customers to get the most from their investment in technology. That includes delivering effective solutions at the best possible price, and supporting those solutions with the highest possible levels of service,” he concludes.
